Date set for Jaycees' Christmas parade

The Goldsboro Jaycees' Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 4 in downtown Goldsboro.
The theme of this year's parade will be "Christmas Around the World." Entries for the parade are now being accepted and are due with fees by Sunday, Nov. 14.
Entry forms and guidelines are available at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce at 308 N. William St. and online at the Goldsboro Jaycees parade website, www.jayceesparade.org.
To participate in the parade, the official 2010 entry form and fees must be submitted to the Jaycees and received or postmarked by Sunday, Nov. 14. Entries will be accepted after this date but they will be charged a late fee. A $25 late fee will be charged for entries postmarked between Nov. 15 until Nov. 20. A $35 late fee will be assessed for entries postmarked between Nov. 21 to Nov. 27. Applications must be received by Nov. 27 or entries may not be allowed in the parade.
Due to the large number of entries and the need to notify participants, under no circumstances will entries be accepted the week of or the day of the parade, organizers said
Fees may be paid by check or money order made payable to the Goldsboro Jaycees, or paid online at the parade web site. Cash will not be accepted this year.
A representative from the Jaycees will also be present at the Flying Shamrock Irish Pub at 115 N. John St. on Saturday, Nov. 13, Nov. 20 and Nov. 27 from 4:30 until 6 p.m. to accept applications and answer questions.
Once all applications are received, entry numbers and times will be assigned. Participants will be notified online at the parade web site of their entry number, time of arrival, directions to the line-up area and other guidelines on Monday Nov. 29. Failure to include an e-mail address on the application may result in not being notified about your entry number.
Also, special requests concerning placement in the line-up will only be taken into consideration if this is noted on the entry form. Entrants area asked to not call to make special requests or to inquire about their line-up number.
Due to time constraints, entrants are asked to review their applications and guidelines prior to contacting the Jaycees with any inquiries. Those who have further questions after reviewing the guidelines, should contact the Jaycees via jayceesparade @yahoo.com, visit the parade website, or call 440-5913. Only the Jaycees may accept applications or answer questions, so interested parties are asked not to call the Chamber of Commerce or the Downtown Goldsboro Develop-ment Corp. with questions or to leave applications.
