FREMONT -- A single vehicle accident on R.P. 1506 north of Fremont killed one person just after midnight Sunday.
Charles Sexton, 37, of Fremont, died of his injuries after losing control of his vehicle and striking a ditch.
State Highway Patrol Sgt. C.J. Owens reported that Sexton was believed to be traveling 65 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone when he lost control of his vehicle at approximately 12:18 a.m. Sunday.
"Speed was a factor, and crossing the center line," Owens said.
Sexton was traveling north on state road 1506 when his vehicle crossed left of center and ran off of the road, according to reports.
Troopers determined that Sexton steered the vehicle back onto the road and began to spin out of control, then ran off of the road to the right and struck a ditch. The car overturned several times and ejected the driver, Owens said.
Wayne County emergency services responded to the scene. Officials are still waiting for the results of tests screening for alcohol or drug use.
