Rebuilding Broken Places will hold a Restoring Health and Wellness Empowerment Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenleaf Vision of Faith Community Center, 2105 N. William St.

This health fair will feature free health screenings and panel discussions on various areas of health care, with a specific presentation on the Health Care Reform Act and its potential impact on Wayne County families.

"We want the community to know what options and health choices are available in our community, and what impact health issues have on our local economy," Rebuilding Broken Places CEO John Barnes said.

Free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, body mass index, cholesterol and panel discussions will be offered by Goshen Medical, Wayne County Health Department, WADEC and WATCH.

Josh Williams, health fair organizer and summer intern from the N.C. Community Development Initiative explained that while anybody is welcome to attend, the organization is making a special effort to reach out to those who are uninsured and underinsured.
