Most towns closed for Fourth on July 5

Local, state and federal offices will observe Monday as the Independence Day holiday, which falls on Sunday this year.
The city of Goldsboro will observe the holiday on Monday, July 5. The council meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. All sanitation services scheduled for Monday, July 5, will be serviced on Wednesday, July 7.
Waste Industries will operate on a regular schedule. Customers are asked to pull their containers to the curb the night before.
All Wayne County offices will be closed July 5, including the landfill and convenience sites.
Town halls in Mount Olive, Fremont, Pikeville, Eureka, Walnut Creek, Seven Springs, Faison and Calypso will be closed Monday. Garbage usually picked up on Monday in Fremont will be picked up on Tuesday. No other town's services will be affected.
Duplin County offices, as well as convenience sites, will be closed Monday. The Duplin County commissioners' meeting scheduled for Monday instead will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
In Calypso, the town board will meet on July 12.
Banks and the U.S. Postal Service offices will be closed on Monday as well.
