Ann Price, a second-grade teacher at Tommy's Road Elementary School, will be participating in the Horace Mann-Abraham Lincoln Fellowship Program that gives 50 teachers from across the country the opportunity to learn more about the 16th president and incorporate the lessons of his life and times into their teaching plans. The program will be held today through Saturday in Springfield, Ill., at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Teachers will also visit other Springfield-area sites including Lincoln's home and tomb and the New Salem area where he lived as a young man.

Fellowship applicants are asked to write essays in response to two questions and are chosen according to the quality of their responses and their educational background.
