False fire reports
The Goldsboro Fire Department and Goldsboro police were looking into a person who allegedly made multiple false fire calls to the county's emergency communications center. Police said they knew the calls came from the 400 block of East Walnut Street, but did not release further detail.
Armed robbery
Mitchell Loeber of Pou Street told police Wednesday that he was approached on Lionel Street by a black man wearing a red shirt and jeans who placed an object in a white plastic bag against the victim's head and said "give me what you got." Loeber said that another black man not wearing a shirt approached him at that time and took Loeber's pocket knife out of his back pocked, put the knife to Loeber's throat and ordered him to "get on the ground and wait 100 seconds." The assailants both fled southbound on Lionel Street. Loeber ran home and called police, saying that in addition to the pocket knife, he had lost his wallet which contained financial cards.
