Burglary
A LaGrange man's Eastwind Drive home was burglarized on Tuesday, with a large amount of property reported stolen, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported. Nearly $4,000 worth of property was taken from Roger Talton's home, according to the report
Worker injured
A worker at Goldsboro Metal Recycling on John Street was seriously injured on Wednesday morning when he was hit by a hydraulic cylinder, Goldsboro fire officials said.
The cylinder was being moved with a crane when the accident happened, around 10:50 a.m., Assistant Chief James Farfour said.
Emergency workers said they could not release the man's name because of privacy rules. Farfour said the man was first taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Calls to Goldsboro Metal Recycling inquiring about the man's injuries were not returned.
