DUDLEY -- Wayne County Sheriff's Office investigators are trying to determine if Saturday shootings on Hideaway Circle are related.
No one was injured and no arrests have been made.
Judy Perry Hicks, 49, told deputies that a man she knows only as "Kaywon" came to her house shortly after 11 p.m. and told her that someone was trying to shoot him.
Ms. Hicks said she let him into the house for his safety.
Within moments, someone began firing at the house, striking it three times.
Ms. Hicks said that "Kaywon" pulled a weapon and ran out of the house while firing toward the people shooting at him. She said she did not know he had a weapon when she let him enter the house.
Witnesses said they saw a small white SUV drive by the house at the time of the shooting.
Several 9mm shell casing were recovered.
Tammy Lee Bowden, 39, said she heard several gunshots and saw a white vehicle, possibly a Cadillac, drive by about 1:45 a.m.
However, deputies said it is possible the shooting was part the one in which bullets struck the Ms. Hicks' house.
The Bowden house was hit by gunfire between five and six times. Damages totaled $1,900.
Sheriff's Capt. Tom Effler said it is possible that the damages to both houses might have occurred at the same time, but that the investigation is continuing to determine what happened.
