In the aftermath of the earthquakes in Haiti, Mathnasium issued a challenge to elementary schools across the county to create UMCOR Health Kits to be sent to Haiti via the MERCI Center.
In response to this challenge, Northwest Elementary created 191 kits, Eastern Wayne Elementary created 75 kits, Spring Creek Elementary created 50 kits and donated $180 to MERCI, and Carver Elementary created 30 kits. Through their efforts, 346 Haitians are now able to perform necessary daily hygiene.
All of these schools also donated additional items to MERCI which will be used for the creation of more kits.
Mathnasium provided the plastic bags for each kit, the transportation to MERCI, and donated 10 cents for each kit created.
