Alzheimer's caregivers workshop Thursday

A workshop for caregivers of Alzheimer's and dementia patients will be held on Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on E. Chestnut Street.
There is no charge for the workshop, which will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., but preregistration is required by today.
The interactive workshop is for family members, volunteers or professional caregivers. Topics to be covered include the approaches and strategies for care challenges, effective communication techniques, medications and resources for assistance.
Presenter will be Melanie Bunn, dementia training specialist with Alzheimer's North Carolina, Inc.
A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Respite services are also available, by contacting Dee Dee Harris at (800) 228-8738.
