Driver runs over officer's foot during traffic stop

A Goldsboro woman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer after driving over the officer's foot, causing minor injury, police said.
Laura Ann Glaspie, 46, of Gainey Drive, was jailed under a $25,000 bond after running over Officer Phillip French's foot, a police report shows.
The incident began with a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation in the 400 block of East Elm Street around 2:50 p.m. Monday, police said.
French had stopped Glaspie and was issuing a ticket for a minor traffic violation when she allegedly started to argue with him and began to drive off.
French reported that he had just finished telling Ms. Glaspie not to drive, because if she did she would run over his foot.
Ms. Glaspie's vehicle immediately rolled over his foot, the officer reported.
