ROSE HILL -- The House of Raeford chicken processing plant near Rose Hill was evacuated this morning after the facility received a bomb threat -- the third one this week.

Sheriff Blake Wallace said the call was received around 7:35 a.m. this morning originating in Sampson County.

"We do have some suspects that we are trying to eliminate or arrest," he said.

Wallace said he could not comment as to whether the caller was an employee.

No one was injured and no bombs were found.

"We did an extensive search with the help of our emergency services and Magnolia and Rose Hill (fire department)," he said.

Wallace said law enforcement and emergency management had cleared the scene about 9:30 a.m. and that employees had returned to work.

Duplin County Emergency Services Director Brian Pearce said that the Duplin County Sheriff's Office, emergency medical services responded to the scene and firefighters responded to the scene.

"There was a bomb threat, we sent fire, EMS and of course law enforcement," Pearce said.
