Man shoots convenience store ceiling
An unknown male fired a round into the ceiling of Brookside Mart, a South Slocumb Street convenience store, on Wednesday evening, according to a Goldsboro police report. The suspect, described as a black male, about 6 feet 4 inches, weighing about 195 pounds, with a slim build and estimated to be around 35 years old, fled north on foot on Slocumb Street after the incident, witnesses said. The incident took place around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. Anyone with information about the incident, which involved a black handgun, is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 735-2255.
Shot in calf
An East Mulberry Street man suffered minor injury after being hit by a bullet in the 700 block of Bain Street on Wednesday afternoon, according to a Goldsboro police report. T-Lee Williams, 25, of East Mulberry Street, said he was exiting a friend's car when he heard shots, the report shows. Williams took off running and realized he had been shot in the left calf, police said. Williams was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital by his mother, where he was treated and released, police said.
