Girl Scout cookies will be available this weekend, just in time to serve at Super Bowl parties.

The annual "Super Bowl cookie booth" provides an early opportunity to pick up boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

Delivery of cookies ordered earlier begins Feb. 12, with booths set up around the county from Feb. 14 through March 14.

According to Grazia Mostella, membership executive for Girl Scouts Wayne County, local troops are to pick up cookie orders today. Several booths will be set up this weekend for the public pre-sale.

Among the locations announced are Lowes, Wal-Mart stores on Spence Avenue and in Rosewood and Mount Olive, Kmart, Food Lion, the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base commissary and BX.

Also back by popular demand, she said, is the "Buy 5" promotion. Customers who purchase five or more boxes of the cookies at one time can have their name entered into a drawing to win a year's supply of free Girl Scout cookies. Six winners will be selected and announced in May.

Troops are also participating in Operation Cookie Drop. Donations made to the effort through March 14 will be used to purchase cookies for troops overseas.
