Fire fighters survey the scene Friday afternoon after a tan Mercedes drove through the front of the Goldsboro Post Office on Cashwell Drive.
A tan Mercedes plowed through the front entrance of the Post Office on Cashwell Drive and into mail boxes on an adjacent wall Friday afternoon.
The driver, who has not been identified, told firefighters she pushed on the brake but instead the car accelerated, jumping the curb and driving fully into the building.
No one was injured in the accident, but the post office closed for the remaining of the day. Building Inspector Ed Cianfarra said he needed to make sure the building was safe and no posts supporting the roof were damaged before deeming it safe to reopen.
