In what might have been record time, the Wayne County Planning Board took slightly less than 15 minutes Tuesday night to dispose of a three-item agenda.
In each case, the board was unanimous in its decisions to recommend that county commissioners approve three minor subdivision plat finals.
The first plat involved one lot, the second, two lots, and the third, three lots.
"If there had been a fourth one it would have been four lots," joked County Planner Connie Price.
The approved plats were:
* Daniel and Karlie Newsome final, one lot off Buck Newsome Road in Nahunta Township
* Jonathan T. Langston final, two lots off Capps Bridge Road in Buck Swamp Township
* Heirs of W.H. and Katherine Edgerton final, three lots on the west side of N.C. 581 in Fork Township.
The earliest that county commissioners will be able to take up the plats will be at their Feb. 2 session. Commissioners canceled their Jan. 19 session in order to attend a State of the Region Conference at Wayne Community College.
It will be only the third time that commissioners will consider plat approval since changes to the subdivision ordinance vested that power with them.
The Planning Board continues to review and make recommendations on preliminary and final plats.
The amended subdivision ordinance allows developers to appeal directly to commissioners should they disagree with the Planning Board's decision on preliminary plats.
