Thanksgiving will bring some Friday closings

Municipal, county, state and federal offices will be closed Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Some also will be closed on Friday.
All Wayne county offices will be open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and closed on Thursday and Friday.
The county landfill and its convenience waste sites will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and open on Friday and Saturday.
The city of Goldsboro will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27. All city sanitation services scheduled for Thursday will be serviced on Wednes-day. City sanitation services scheduled for Friday will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 28.
Town halls in Mount Olive, Pikeville and Fremont will be closed on both Thanksgiving Day and on Friday.
Waste Industries will be closed on Thanksgiving but open on Friday. Any waste collections scheduled for Thursday will be conducted on Friday.
Onslow Container, the garbage collection company used by the town of Mount Olive, will be closed Thurs-day. Thursday's pick-up will be on Friday and Friday's on Saturday. It is not a recyclables pickup week.
State offices will be closed both Thanksgiving Day and Friday.
Federal offices, including the Postal Service, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but reopen on Friday.
The Wayne County Public Schools will have early dismissal for students on Wednesday, with no classes on Thursday and Friday.
At Wayne Community College, there will be no classes Wednesday through Friday.
Goldsboro-Wayne Trans-portation Authority, which operates the GATEWAY bus system, will be closed Thursday.
Passengers requesting van service for Nov. 27, 28 and 30 must call and schedule transportation no later than 2:30 p.m. Nov. 24. The office staff will not be available Friday to process reservations, so passengers requesting van service for Dec. 1 must call and schedule transportation no later than 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 25.
The urban bus system will be on a holiday schedule Friday operating from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Banks contacted by The News-Argus indicated they would be closed Thanksgiv-ing Day but reopen on Friday.
