Volunteers to be honored

Five Wayne County people will be honored for their service at the annual Outstanding Volunteer Service ceremony Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at WAGES multipurpose room.
One North Carolina Medallion winner will also be announced. The medallion is the highest award in the state for outstanding service.
The speaker for the ceremony will be Louise Faison, winner of the 2008 Medallion Award. She was recognized for her dedication to young girls s through Girl Scouts as well as her contributions to Cherry Hospital,, Meals on Wheels, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Thrift Shop, Wayne County Extension and Community Association and RSVP.
This year marks the 31st anniversary of the program that showcases North Carolina's most dedicated residents.
