Planning group's meeting rescheduled

Today's special meeting of the Goldsboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has been rescheduled to Thursday, Sept. 24.
MPO's are organized under federal requirements and charged with making transportation recommendations.
City officials aid the meeting was delayed in order for state and federal officials to have more time to review changes in the MPO's long-range transportation improvement plan (TIP).
The Technical Advisory Committee (TCC), the MPO staff-level committee, will meet at 9 a.m. followed by the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), the MPO voting body, at 10 a.m.
Both meetings are open to the public and will be held in the upstairs anteroom at Goldsboro City Hall.
Items on the agenda include:
*A prioritized needs list
*An amendment to the TIP in the area of public transit for a proposed maintenance facility for the GATEWAY bus system
*Approval of the TIP
*Corridor protection measures.
