Offices will be closed Labor Day

Wayne County government offices, including the landfill, will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday. Offices normally closed on Fridays because of the county's four-day workweek will remain on that schedule.
The landfill that is normally closed on Wednesdays as part of the county's four-day workweek will be open for commercial traffic only.
The Goldsboro-Wayne Transportation Authority will operate on a holiday schedule. The bus service will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The van service will operate on its normal schedule.
Goldsboro city offices will be closed, and all sanitation services scheduled for Monday will be serviced on Wednesday.
Waste Industries will be working on a normal schedule with no delays for trash collection Labor Day week. Customers are asked to pull their container curbside the night before the collection day.
Town halls in Mount Olive, Seven Springs, Calypso, Fremont, Pikeville, Walnut Creek and Faison will be closed Monday.
The closing will not affect trash or recyclables pickup. However, the Mount Olive Recycling Center on Talton Avenue will be closed Saturday, Sept. 5. It will be open Monday.
The Calypso and Mount Olive town boards have rescheduled their first-of-the-month sessions. Calypso will meet Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. and Mount Olive will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Seven Springs Town Board will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Pikeville town board meeting has been more to Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Wayne and Duplin county schools will be closed Monday.
