Groups or organizations seeking funding for farming or rural resident-based projects can apply for up to $5,000 in grant money from the AgCarolina Financial Fund for Rural North Carolina.
AgCarolina Financial, a farmer-owned cooperative based in Raleigh, provides more than $1.2 billion in loans for nearly 3,000 North Carolina farmers. The group is offering funding for programs that especially benefit farmers and rural residents in one of four areas: education, environment, technology or quality of rural life. Grants will not be given to individuals, only to groups or organizations.
Grant criteria and applications are available at www.agcarolina.com.
"AgCarolina Financial is committed to enhancing the life and future opportunities for Eastern North Carolina rural residents and their communities," said Gene Charville, chief executive officer of AgCarolina. "We can impact a broad spectrum of organizations within our service area through this fund."
Applications will be accepted through Oct. 15. Proposals will be reviewed and grants awarded as early as possible after Oct. 15.
