House fired on, man suffers minor injury
A Slaughter Street couple told Goldsboro police that their home, in the 600 block, had been shot multiple times around 2 a.m. on Sunday, striking one person inside, according to a Goldsboro police report. Resident Chad Craft was hit in the arm with a bullet after someone fired about five or six times at the couple's door, according to the report. The home's other occupant, Latoya Jacobs reported she was almost hit as well during the assault. Witnesses reported that the alleged shooter fled on foot in the direction of South Slocumb Street, police said.
Armed robbery
Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 700 block of East Ash Street was robbed at just before 10 p.m. Sunday night, according to a police report. Employees reported that a black male, in his 20s, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, about 185 pounds with a heavy build, took an undetermined amount of cash and employee's personal debit cards. The suspect ran west after the incident, police said. The suspect was carrying a handgun, and was wearing a white shirt and dark pants, witnesses told police.
Robbery
A West Virginia man reported he was assaulted outside the Irish Inn late Saturday night on Sunburst Drive while trying to buy a soda from a vending machine. Gary White, of Whitmon, W.Va., suffered minor injury when two black males allegedly punched him in the back of the head and took $110 in cash, according to the report. White told police the two males approached him from behind. One suspect was described as wearing blue pants and a white shirt; the other suspect was described as having a small build with medium-length black hair, according to the report. Police said the suspect fled the Slaughter Street home in the direction of South Slocumb.
