Girls ages five to 17 are invited to join the fun, friendship, and power of Girl Scouting.
Through Scouting, girls can learn the importance of personal responsibility, the value of goal setting, the spirit of teamwork, and the thrill of accomplishment. From sports skill-building clinics to career mentoring, world travel and cultural exchanges to local community service projects, environmental stewardships to financial literacy, the Girl Scout program enables girls to be who they want to be.
Adults also are encouraged to register as Girl Scout members and are needed to serve in many volunteer positions available to both women and men.
For more information on the Girl Scout programs, call Lillie Thompson at 751-3707 or call 432-6123.
Also, on Saturday at Herman Park, the Girl Scouts will hold a Taste of Girl Scouts event from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
