An Eastern Wayne High School student is charged with lying to Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies about how he really got shot with a BB gun at the school earlier this month, authorities said.
Dahamoney Hakem Murchison, 18, is charged with filing a false police report. Murchison allegedly told deputies that a group of men had pulled up and fired a BB gun at him while he was at football practice, according to a Sheriff's Office captain and police reports. The injury actually happened because Murchison and two other students were "playing around" with a BB gun when Murchison accidentally was struck, detectives reported.
Two acquaintances, Christopher Michael Hines, 17, and Calvin Darnell, 16, were charged with possession of a weapon on a school campus.
