Man shot in foot
Eric Hutchinson of Marlotte Drive was shot in the foot while crossing N.C. 111 South late Tuesday, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said. Hutchinson, 42, said he saw a vehicle pass by and heard a loud pop. Hutchinson ran back to his home, took off his boot and saw an injury, he reported. The 42-year-old was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment, authorities said.
