A rezoning request for Daniels Development was approved by county commissioners during their Tuesday session.
The approval followed a brief public hearing during which the only speaker was company representative Jim Daniels.
The company had sought rezoning for roughly 16.7 acres on N.C. 111 South at Ditch Bank Road from Residential-Agricultural 20 to Community Shopping.
Daniels said the company plans to build an office and equipment yard on the site.
He said the plans for the property had been slowed down because of the economy. Daniels said he knew the zoning process could take some time and that was why they had dedicated to proceed with the request.
The Planning Board had recommended approval.
The request was to have been acted on last month. However, action was postponed after it was discovered that the incorrect map used to show where the property is located.
The planned public hearing was canceled and had to be rescheduled.
