A 42-year-old East Holly Street man is accused of multiple counts of statutory rape of a child between the ages of 13 and 15, and also of providing the victim with narcotics.

Quadius Nathaniel Gaines, who is also known as Alvin Nathaniel Gaines Jr., was being held under a $100,000 bond, according to a release.

He is accused of four counts of statutory rape, and was arrested Wednesday on those counts and one count of delivering a controlled substance to a person under age 16 by a person over the age of 18.

Police originally received the report on May 14, and the investigation culminated with Wednesday's arrest of Gaines, according to a news release from the Goldsboro Police Depart-ment.

The news release did not detail what narcotics were distributed, nor whether the victim was a male or female.
