Four teenagers from Spain will arrive in the United States this week and officials with the student exchange program Terra Lingua/Terre des Langues say they have yet to find homes for the four, one of whom is 15 years old and the other three, who are 16.

Students will stay in the U.S. for several weeks.

Time is short, said Dr. Frederic Fladenmuller, who directs the program through East Carolina University. Many Wayne County residents have opened their homes to students from other countries through the program, Fladenmuller said Monday, and he said he hopes more will find it in their hearts to show these young people what life in America is like.

For more information, contact Fladenmuller at (252) 754-2136 or at Fladenmuller@ecu.edu.

There is also a useful link, where people can find more general information about Terra Lingua / Terre des Langues. The Web site is: www.tlthost.com.

Terra lingua/Terre des Langues is an organization which stands for "World of Languages." It serves as a way to bridge the gap between families in eastern North Carolina and students learning English in Spain and France.

Grandparents and single families also are encouraged to apply.
