The Goldsboro Police Department is currently investigating two shootings that occurred within an hour of each other early Saturday morning.
William Street was the scene of the first.
The call came in shortly after 2 a.m. and when officers arrived, witnesses told them an argument broke out and turned violent when an unidentified black male fired into the crowd.
One person was injured and when friends loaded him into a car en route to the hospital, a second black male fired at the vehicle.
The car was later intercepted by law enforcement, and the victim was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
No more than 30 minutes later, a second shooting was reported on the 900 block of Slaughter Street.
Goldsboro resident Marquez Leach said he was walking down the street when an unknown person shot him.
Leach was also transported to Wayne and treated for minor thigh injuries, the police report stated.
Those with any information about the shootings can contact Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers at 735-2255.
