The Goldsboro City Council will hold two public hearings on rezoning requests at its meeting Monday night.

The council will meet at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall following a work session that begins at 5 p.m. in the City Hall addition.

The hearings involve a request by Wayne Oil Co. to rezone property on the northwest corner of Wayne Memorial Drive and Fourth Street from new business and residential to new business. The second hearing will be on a request by Kenneth Wiggins to rezone property on the north side of Wayne Memorial Drive between Hospital Road and Medical Office Place from Office and Institutional to General Business, conditional use.

The City Council also will hear from the Stop the Funeral Initiative.

The consent agenda includes appointments to the Goldsboro-Wayne Airport Authority, stop sign controls at Mulberry Street and Audubon Avenue and the condemnation of several buildings, among other items.

At the work session, council members will hear a request from the Wayne Food Initiative regarding its community garden, a site selection proposal for the possible replacement of Fire Station No. and discuss the site plan and zoning proposal for the Windsor Creek subdivision.
