Boats stolen from lake

Wade Durham of Thunder Swamp Road, Mount Olive reported Saturday morning that two aluminum boats, one 14-feet long and another 12-feet long, had been stolen from Durham Lake, possibly on Friday. The 14-foot aluminum boat is green in color, and the 12-foot boat is painted in a camouflage style, according to the report.

ATV burned

A burned four-wheeler was found in the 800 block of Genoa Road, Dudley on Sunday evening, according to Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies. The vehicle appeared to have been abandoned, authorities said.

Occupied home shot

Brenda Garner of 1502 Old Mount Olive Highway reported her home had been shot early on Saturday morning, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. Deputies documented about $200 in damages to a door window, the report shows.

Attempted armed robbery

Verta Johnson of Peele Street told Goldsboro police that a young black male approached her in her yard and demanded her keys. The suspect, described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds with a slim build, wearing a black shirt, then pulled a gun on Ms. Johnson, the report shows. Ms. Johnson still refused to give up the keys, and the suspect fled east on foot, according to the report.
