Aycock birthplace hosts events

The Charles B. Aycock Birthplace is sponsoring these upcoming events:
*As a part of the site's 50th anniversary celebration, the movie "Ben-Hur," starring Charlton Heston will be shown on Sunday at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
*A basic beginner's genealogy workshop will be held in the Ida H. Williams Auditorium at the birthplace on Saturday, June 20, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Attendance is limited to 30 participants. Those planning to attend must register by Friday. There is fee of $10 for this program. The workshop will be led by Rob Elias, past president of the Durham-Orange Genealogical Society and a member of the National Genealogical Society. *July 27-31 from 9 a.m. until noon, the birthplace will hold a summer adventures camp for children ages 7-11. Cost is $45 per child. Participants must register and pay in advance. Space is limited. Please contact camp director Sarah Pittman at 242-5581 for more information.
