Armed robbery
Joseph Herring of Jones Turner Road, Mount Olive, told Goldsboro police he was robbed at gunpoint at Quality Inn & Suites on Corporate Drive on Thursday just after 10 p.m. The suspect took a wallet from Herring containing about $1,000 cash, police said. The male suspect also allegedly struck a female in the head with his handgun, according to the report, but did not cause her serious injury. Police are searching for a black male in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing jogging pants and carried a silver revolver, and left the scene in a silver four-door Buick, according to the report.
