Nine girls to compete for title of Miss Aycock on Saturday

The old gym at Charles B. Aycock High School will be the setting Saturday night when nine young ladies compete for the title of Miss Aycock.

The pageant, sponsored by the Charles B. Aycock Music and Art Department, will be held at 6 pm. Tickets will be $10 at the door. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

*Cynthia Maria Dickerson is the daughter of Roger Cypress and Sharon Dickerson. She plans to pursue a career as a model/fashion designer

*Dana Durham is the daughter of Davetta Manuel and Michael Durham. She plans to attend a four-year university and major in business.

*Tabatha Lynn Ezzell is the daughter of Tony and Vicky Ezzell. She plans to pursue a career as a veterinarian.

*Yasmine Faison is the daughter of Tyrone Faison and the late Arica Faison. She plans to attend Wayne Community College and FSU, majoring in forensic science.

*Katherine Elizabeth Hinnant is the daughter of William and Teresa Hinnant. She plans to attend Mount Olive College and double major in English and biology education.

*Teonna Jenkins is the daughter of Altonia Grantham. She plans to attend North Carolina Central University and major in pre-law.

*Brittany Danielle Jones is the daughter of Anette Jones. She plans to attend Shaw University and major in social work.

*La'Keya Janae Newsome is the daughter of Janatus and Phyllis Newsome. She plans to attend Elizabeth City State University and major in nursing.

*Rebecca Setliff is the daughter of Paul and Ella Setliff. She plans to attend Pitt Community College to obtain her paralegal degree and continue at East Carolina University majoring in political science.
