Central/Eastern Wayne High School Homecoming set for May 22-24

Central/Eastern Wayne Alumni and Friends will hold its 37th annual homecoming May 22-24.

Central classes of 1939, 1949, 1959 and 1969 will be honored. Eastern Wayne classes of 1979, 1989, 1999 and 2009 also will be honored.

The banquet will be held at 7 p.m., May 22 at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Guest speaker will be Marvin Adams of Ellenwood, Ga., a member of the Central Class of 1969. A fellowship hour will follow at Quality Inn & Suites. Banquet tickets are $25 and must be purchased by Monday.

A dutch breakfast will be held at 9 a.m., May 23 at Madison's. The parade will begin at noon in the Central Heights Community. Parade line up will begin at 11 a.m. at Eastern Wayne Middle School. Entry forms are available. The family picnic will follow the parade at 1 p.m. at Eastern Wayne Middle School, with dinner served from 2-3:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. At 9 p.m., a hospitality hour will be held at Quality Inn & Suites. Tickets are $15.

Worship service will be Sunday at Atkinson Missionary Baptist Church, with an awards/gospel program at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at 5 p.m. Joyce Parks of Lumberton, a member of the Class of 1959, will give a tribute to scholarship recipients and retirees. Individual or group talent is welcome.

Donor list prices are: Panther List -- $100 plus, White List -- $50, Blue List -- $25. Deadline for names to appear in the book is Monday.
