Foster, adoptive parents needed

Boys and Girls Homes of N.C. is a non-profit organization working to promote awareness of the effects of child abuse and neglect in Southeastern North Carolina.
Officials with the organization say they need foster and/or adoptive parents who are dedicated to the foster and/or adoptive children in their care.
Requirements to become a foster and/or adoptive parent with Boys & Girls Homes are: be over the age of 21, pass a criminal history check and federal background check, complete training of 36 hours with the organization, complete physicals and TB tests, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass a fire inspection of their residence.
Applicants must also have adequate living space, demonstrate adequate income to meet the needs of their own family, have their own transportation, and the ability to work as a team.
Most importantly though, beyond basic requirements, a successful foster/adoptive parent needs to have determination, patience, humor, and love for children, regardless of their background.
Boys & Girls Homes of N.C. will be hosting the necessary trainings in Greenville in June. Exact dates and location are yet to be determined.
