Woman struck, killed by car

Early, unconfirmed reports indicate that a pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night near the Shine's Crossroads area in western Greene County, northeast of Goldsboro.
Investigating Highway Patrol Trooper Billy Beaman, who investigated the accident, was not available for comment this morning, the Wilson County Highway Patrol office said, and his official report on the accident was not available.
Unsubstantiated reports said a woman leaving a church service at Fort Run Church was struck by a vehicle and killed as she crossed the highway on foot.
Highway Patrol officials refused to confirm or deny the report.
