Library to offer spring break activities for kids

The Wayne County Public Library will host a series of programs during the public schools' spring break, Monday through Friday.
On Monday at 4 p.m., there will be a Library Scavenger Hunt with goodies placed throughout the Children's Department.
This Tuesday, as well as every Tuesday from 12:45 until 2 p.m., the library has free nutrition classes for parents and children. The class is led by Adriane Skillman of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program.
On Tuesday at 3 p.m., a "Based on the Book" movie will be shown.
On Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the library garden, a workshop will be held on "Turning Garden Garbage into Gold" featuring Tim "the Worm Guy" Norris and special art activities.
And Thursday at 6 p.m. in the garden, the library will conclude its Spring Break activities with a program called "Story Circles in the Garden." For this activity, youngsters are encouraged to bring their favorite stories to share.
Due to limited spacing, those who wish to attend the events must call the Children's Department for pre-registration at 735-1824 ext. 5104.
