A man accused of killing a Fremont mother of two in an alleged armed robbery was listed among indictments returned this month by a Wayne County Grand Jury.

There has also been an additional charge filed against Brandon Lee Williams, 24 -- impersonation of a law enforcement officer.

The Sheriff's Office has not released any information regarding why Williams was charged with impersonating an officer. There are also sex-offense-related charges filed against him that were previously not released by investigators.

Williams, who was 23 at the time of his arrest, faces counts of first-degree murder, breaking and entering, attempted first-degree rape and an attempted first-degree sex offense, according to the two bills of indictment returned against him.

The accused man, who lived four miles away from his alleged victim, on N.C. 222 East near Fremont, had been under suspicion since investigation into the murder first began, authorities said.

Actually tying Williams to the crime scene proved difficult at first, investigators said. Authorities made the arrest in mid-June 2008 after lead investigator Tammy Odom began investigating last March.

Also included among the indicted was Dennis Cleveland "Crazy Jeff" Young, who has been implicated in the murder of Rahkeem Jeffery, 21. Jeffery had no known Goldsboro address, and police were not sure why he was in Goldsboro. Jeffery's hometown is Passaic, N.J., according to authorities.

Federal marshals arrested Young in late September, 2007, in Louisville, Ky., authorities said.
