Child predator workshop offered

The Mental Health Association of Wayne County is sponsoring a workshop to teach parents, teachers, law enforcement, doctors and others who work with children on the dangers of child predators on the Internet.

On Wednesday, March 18, Starr Barbaro from the Governor's Crime Commission will present "Child Predators: What Parents Need to Know About the Internet." She will address and discuss nationwide statistics regarding Internet crimes against children, the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet for children, the types of dangers and how to protect children.

The two-hour workshop will be held at Cherry Hospital Conference at 3 p.m. Wayne Community College will offer two contact hours for the educational activity.

Cost of the workshop is $10 and may be paid at the door.

The program is sponsored by The Mental Health Association in Wayne County with Community Partners, Goldsboro Rotary Club, Eastpointe, United Way of Wayne County, Cherry Hospital and Wayne Community College.
