Shooting in car becomes murder

A Goldsboro woman shot while sitting in the driver's seat of her car outside her home Tuesday night has died.
Barbara Bandy was reportedly shot "multiple times," and police are seeking John Oscar Mumford of Whitted Court and Anthony Dwayne Jackson of North Leslie Street on one open count each of murder, authorities said.
Goldsboro police were actively looking for Mumford and Jackson today, Sgt. Chad Calloway said.
Calloway said the investigation has showed the shooting took place after a "disagreement among acquaintances."
Ms.Bandy died Thursday around 12:30 p.m. at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, authorities said.
The two men previously had had active warrants for Ms. Bandy's attempted murder.
During the incident, Ms. Bandy's home also was fired upon, where three men were inside.
Herman Hardy, 58, of North Claiborne Street, Jerry Spruill, 51, of Alabama Avenue and Leonard Broadhurst, 50, who lived with Ms. Bandy, were not injured, according to reports.
When police arrived at the home, they found Ms. Bandy sitting in the vehicle, which was shot in the windshield and front passenger window.
After being taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, she was flown by emergency medical helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital, where she died about two days later after extensive treatment, authorities said.
Calloway said finding the two men was the investigation department's top priority.
"We're still working it obviously, because we're out trying to find these suspects as we speak," he said.
