Mount Olive Black History Month parade postponed

The Mount Olive Black History Month Parade scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until Saturday, March 7, because of the threat of heavy rain.
The parade line-up will begin at 10 a.m. March 7 and the parade will start at 1 p.m. in the parking lot at the Rose parking lot. The route will follow Breazeale Avenue south to the old Carver High School campus.
The Black History Month celebration program scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 711, NW Center St., will be held as planned. It is sponsored by the town, the Mount Olive Area Historical Society and the Carver High School Alumni and Friends Association. Dinner will be served.
