One man is in Wayne County jail for the December shooting of Louis Muniz of Faro, but the Sheriff's Office is looking for another, authorities said.

The Sheriff's Office arrested Terrance Lee Melton, 18, of Northwest Acres Drive, Greenville, on Tuesday, according to a release.

Melton faces an attempted murder charge, in addition to first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon, authorities said.

Muniz had been shot at his Lanetown Road home in Faro "several times," on Dec. 16, and has since recovered since leaving Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Detectives were not sure how long Muniz was in the hospital, but Capt. Tom Effler said the victim had been through "extensive treatment" at Pitt Memorial.

Effler said that that the Sheriff's Office is still looking for another suspect, with the assistance of deputies from Greene County and the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.

"They're still investigating it. We haven't got a warrant on it, but we have some suspects," the Sheriff's Office captain said.
