Mrs. Tucker president of Sir Walter Cabinet

RALEIGH -- Geraldine A. Tucker has been officially inducted as president of the Sir Walter Cabinet, a group comprised of the spouses of high-ranking state officials.
She is the wife of Rep. Russell Tucker, D-Duplin.
The Sir Walter Cabinet dates to at least 1913 and its members pledge to contribute to the good of the state and its citizens and to stay informed on current issues.
Spouses of General Assembly members, the governor, lieutenant governor, Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Council of State, cabinet secretaries, director of the Administrative Office of the Courts, the president of the University of North Carolina, and the president of the North Carolina Community College System. Any woman who holds these offices also is eligible for membership.
Mrs. Tucker previously served as vice president of the cabinet and will serve a two-year term as president.
She is a trustee at James Sprunt Community College. She also is a past chairman of the Duplin General Hospital Chaplains Program, a past member and vice chairwoman of Duplin Home Care and Hospice and a past member of the Duplin Strategic Planning Committee.
