A Rosewood man is wanted for forging a Sam's Club receipt and trying to walk out with a touchscreen computer, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office says.

Then, authorities said, Jeffery Alan Moore left the copies of his multiple attempts at forging a receipt on a table outside his home.

Moore allegedly fled from Sam's Club after a clerk immediately recognized his receipt as counterfeit, a detective said.

He had first purchased a pack of cigarettes, then loaded up a Hewlett Packard TouchSmart PC in a cart, authorities said.

"The door greeter ... took the receipt and the merchandise back to the office to investigate," Sheriff's Office financial crimes Detective Thomas Flores said. "While the manager was doing that, the suspect fled the store."

When deputies went to serve him with a warrant on Thursday afternoon, they suspected someone was at home, but no one answered the door.

But outside, Flores said, he found a package with all of Moore's forged receipts on a table.

Moore is wanted for obtaining property by false pretenses for the late January attempt to walk out of Sam's Club with the computer, Flores said.
