Duplin boards meet Monday

KENANSVILLE -- School facilities will be the topic of a Monday evening meeting between Duplin County commissioners and school board.
The meeting will be begin at 7 p.m. at the county Department of Social Services.
The school board will hold a follow-up special session on facilities Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the large conference room at the O.P. Johnson Education Building.
The facilities plan and funding have divided the two boards for the past several years. Last summer the school board forced mediation on the funding issue and when it failed, sued the county. A judge ordered the county to provide an additional $4.8 million to the schools. The county has appealed.
