Seymour Johnson sergeant charged with sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Technical Sgt. Jeremiah Williams Powers, 32, faces charges for an alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old male, a Sheriff's Office captain said.
A 10-day investigation involved both Sheriff's Office detectives -- Richard Winders and Larry Mitchell -- and a investigator from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Office of Special investigation.
Authorities say Powers faces charges that include a indecent liberties with a minor, and a statutory sex offense.
The investigation began Jan. 18 when family members reported a possible sexual assault had been perpetrated.
Powers also faces a charge of disseminating harmful material to a minor, which means he displayed pornography to the child, authorities said.
