Officials: Jet was visiting SJAFB

The in-flight emergency that led Wayne County personnel to the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base flight line Sunday did not involve a 4th Fighter Wing F-15E, but the incident did involve an Air Force Strike Eagle.
The jet, an asset of the Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho-based 391st Fighter Squadron, was one of many that touched down at Seymour Johnson Friday after a four-month stint at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, for a brief stopover before heading home.
The crews that manned them were set to leave Golds-boro Sunday, and were on their way when one of them reported a possible utility hydraulics failure and landed, again, on the flight line.
Moments after the emergency call was taken by Wayne Emergency Services officials, a Strike Eagle was seen coming in for landing over Wilber's Barbecue with its tailhook lowered.
4th Fighter Wing officials said no one was injured in the incident and that the response "went off without a problem."
