KENANSVILLE -- Hundreds of applicants are going after a handful of fork-lift operator jobs at Nordic Cold Storage in Teachey.

Pam Burrs, the office manager at Nordic, said the company is looking for about five or 10 fork lift operators.

"We should have plenty to choose from," she said Tuesday.

As the line reached to the highway and cars lined both sides of the road in front of the Employment Security Commission Monday and Tuesday, Manager Dennis Kirby policed the parking lot making sure everybody waiting in line was taken care of.

The office processed about 100 applicants Monday morning, and Kirby said he was expecting another 100 or so Tuesday.

"We're helping (Nordic) recruit employees. This is their second round of hiring and our first time helping them," he said.

James Sprunt Community College is also helping by administering math tests to the applicants.
