Holiday schedules announced

Goldsboro, Wayne County, Mount Olive, Pikeville, Walnut Creek, Seven Springs, Fremont and Eureka offices will be closed Thursday for New Year's Day and will reopen for business Friday morning.
Most Wayne County offices also will be closed Friday because of the county's four-day workweek.
Wayne County's waste disposal convenience centers will be closed Wednesday because of the four-day work schedule and also on Thursday.
Waste Industries will be operating on regular schedule every day except Thursday in observance of the holiday. Thursday's trash collection will be moved to Friday. Friday's schedule will not change. Customers are asked to pull their carts curbside the night before.
Goldsboro's sanitation service will be changed -- service normally scheduled for Thursday will be done on Wednesday.
Mount Olive garbage service will remain the same, but recyclable collection will be postponed from Thursday to Friday this week.
Walnut Creek trash services will also be on a regular schedule, but recycling service will be moved to Friday.
Pikeville sanitation services will be Friday as well.
The pick-up schedule is the same as usual in Fremont.
There will be no change in the Seven Springs schedule because the town hall is normally closed every Tuesday and Thursday.
Duplin County offices and its landfill will close Thursday and reopen Friday.
The Postal Service and area banks and credit unions will also be closed Thursday and resume regular business hours Friday.
Wayne County Public Schools are closed for vacation. Classes will resume Jan. 5.
The Goldsboro/Wayne Transportation Authority will operate its vans on their normal scheduled Thursday, but passengers needing that service between Thursday and Saturday must call and schedule their pickups by 2:30 p.m. today. Anybody requesting pickups for Monday, must call by 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The bus service will run on a holiday schedule Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
